FCC Denies EchoStar, General Motors, and Hughes Application to Transfer Control of Satellite Authorizations

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has designated a hearing to determine whether granting EchoStar Communications Corp.'s application to transfer control of various satellite authorizations would serve the public interest, convenience, and necessity, following the applicants' failure to demonstrate that the proposed transaction would not cause anticompetitive harms.
