U.S. Department of Education Proposes Revisions to LSC FOIA Regulations

The U.S. Department of Education has proposed several revisions to the regulations implementing the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) for the Low-Income Student Assistance Corporation (LSC). The proposed changes would clarify the rights process for submitters, allow LSC to defer action on pending requests when a requester has an outstanding fee balance, and revise the fee structure to better reflect LSC's costs. The proposed revisions aim to improve the efficiency and transparency of the FOIA process for LSC.
