EPA Finds Spokane State Implementation Plan Revision for Carbon Monoxide Adequate for Conformity Purposes

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has confirmed that the motor vehicle emissions budget submitted by the state for the Spokane Serious Nonattainment Area in Washington is sufficient for future transportation conformity determinations, following a 1999 court ruling that required EPA's affirmative approval for such determinations.
