U.S. Senate to Consider Additional Safeguards Protocol for Nuclear Materials

The U.S. Senate is set to consider a protocol aimed at strengthening safeguards on nuclear materials in the United States, following its signing in 1998 and a request from the President to be ratified by the Senate on May 9, 2002.
