NMFS Prohibits Pacific Cod Fishing in Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has prohibited directed fishing for Pacific cod by catcher processor vessels using hook-and-line gear in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands management area due to the risk of exceeding the 2002 total allowable catch limit for this fishery.
