FAA Extends Compliance Deadline for Fuel Tank System Safety Assessments

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has extended the deadline for supplemental type certificate holders to complete safety assessments of their fuel tank systems and develop design changes and maintenance programs to address safety concerns. The extension allows operators to incorporate fuel tank system maintenance and inspection procedures into their existing programs.
