EPA Proposes National Emission Standards for Taconite Iron Ore Processing Plants

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants (NESHAP) for taconite iron ore processing plants, which are major sources of hazardous air pollutant (HAP) emissions, to implement section 112(d) of the Clean Air Act (CAA) and reduce exposure to carcinogenic substances such as manganese, arsenic, and lead.
