National Urban Search and Rescue Response System

We (FEMA) propose to standardize the financing, administration and operation of the National Urban Search and Rescue Response System, a cooperative effort of FEMA, participating State emergency management agencies and local public safety agencies across the country. The proposed rule addresses the relationship between Urban Search & Rescue (US&R) Task Forces and FEMA, funding for preparedness and response activities, including the acquisition of equipment and supplies and training.
