Atlantic Highly Migratory Species Fisheries; Atlantic Bluefin Tuna

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has announced that the Atlantic bluefin tuna (BFT) General category quota for the 2002 fishing year will be reached by December 15, 2002, prompting the closure of the General category fishery at 11:30 p.m. on the same day. This decision aims to prevent overfishing of the total adjusted General category quota of 882 metric tons.
