EPA Proposes National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants from Stationary Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engines

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants from stationary reciprocating internal combustion engines with a manufacturer's nameplate rating above 500 brake horsepower, which are major sources of hazardous air pollutants such as formaldehyde, acrolein, methanol, and acetaldehyde. The proposed rule aims to reduce nationwide HAP emissions from major stationary RICE by approximately 5,000 tons/year in the 5th year after implementation, in line with the Clean Air Act's primary goal of protecting the public and achieving emission reductions.
