Nuclear Regulatory Commission Approves Revised HI-STORM 100 Cask System for Spent Fuel Storage

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is updating its regulations to include the Holtec International HI-STORM 100 cask system, which will allow for the storage of high-burnup fuel and nonfuel hardware. The changes, outlined in Amendment 1 to Certificate of Compliance Number 1014, modify the cask system design and thermal analysis tools.
