U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Extends Public Comment Period for Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility Environmental Impact Statement

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has extended the public comment period for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) of the Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility (MOX) until a later date, following a request from the Department of Energy (DOE) to reconsider the immobilization of surplus plutonium as a No Action Alternative.
