NRC Submits Proposal for Revised Fire Protection Rule for Light Water Reactors Under OMB Review
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has submitted a proposal to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review, which aims to revise the fire protection requirements for light water reactors in the United States. The proposed rule, titled 'Fire Protection, Voluntary Adoption of NFPA 805 Fire Protection Requirements', would require certain reactor licensees to adopt the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 805 fire protection standards.
