Nuclear Energy Institute Petition for Rulemaking Denied by US Nuclear Regulatory Commission

The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has rejected a petition by the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) to amend regulations regarding the preemption of nuclear facilities and byproducts by the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, citing that the original General Counsel opinion remains valid.
