NHTSA Receives Petition for Importation of Nonconforming Mercedes Benz E-320 Cars

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has accepted a petition from a company requesting that 2002-2003 Mercedes Benz E-320 passenger cars, which do not meet all federal safety standards, be allowed to be imported into the US due to their similarity to compliant vehicles and their ability to be modified to meet safety standards.
