FDA Finalizes Rule on Certain Over-the-Counter Drug Ingredients

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a final rule stating that two stimulant laxative ingredients, aloe and cascara sagrada, are not generally recognized as safe and effective in over-the-counter (OTC) medications, and may be considered misbranded.
