FDA Reopens Comment Period for Dental Devices Rule

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is extending the comment period for a proposed rule on the classification of encapsulated amalgam alloy and dental mercury, and the issuance of special controls for amalgam alloy, for 60 days. The comment period was previously closed on May 21, 2002, but the FDA is now reopening it in response to a request for an extension.
