FDA Publishes Guidance for Surgical Sutures, Including PDS Suture, as Special Control

The FDA has released a guidance document for the absorbable polydioxanone surgical (PDS) suture, which is being reclassified from class III to class II, and will serve as a special control for this device, as well as eight other surgical suture devices, once a proposed rule is finalized.
