NMFS Extends Commercial Fishery for Large Coastal Sharks in Western North Atlantic Ocean

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has extended the commercial fishery for large coastal sharks (LCS) in the Western North Atlantic Ocean, including the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, until September 4, 2001, from its original closure date of August 31, 2001. This extension allows eligible participants to continue fishing for LCS until the new deadline.
