DoD Proposes Clarification on Local 8(a) Contractor Preferences for Base Closures or Realignments

The Department of Defense (DoD) is proposing to amend the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) to clarify policy on preferences for local businesses in acquisitions supporting base closures or realignments, specifically allowing 8(a) contractors located near the affected base to participate in both competitive and noncompetitive acquisitions.
