EPA Proposes Approval of New Jersey's Motor Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Program

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to approve a State Implementation Plan (SIP) revision submitted by New Jersey, which includes two key elements necessary for full approval of the state's enhanced motor vehicle inspection and maintenance program. The program aims to reduce emissions and help achieve the one-hour ozone standard.
