Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company Seeks Approval for Texas Rail Line Construction

The Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company (BNSF) has submitted a proposal to the Surface Transportation Board for permission to build and operate a 7.8-mile rail line in Texas to serve the Union Carbide Corporation's Seadrift industrial complex, with the Board's environmental analysis suggesting minimal environmental impact if recommended mitigation measures are implemented.
