Customs Succession Plan for National Security Emergencies

The U.S. Customs Service has established a succession plan, outlined in Customs Delegation Order No. 01-006, which designates officers to act as Commissioner of Customs in the event of a national emergency and grants field officers authority to perform essential functions during a national security crisis.
