EPA Withdraws Direct Final Rule for NOX RACT in Pittsburgh-Beaver Valley Area

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is withdrawing a direct final rule that approved revisions to reasonably available control technology (RACT) requirements for four major sources of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) in the Pittsburgh-Beaver Valley ozone nonattainment area, following receipt of adverse comments from Citizens for Pennsylvania's Future (PennFuture).
