EPA Publishes Annual Adjustment Factors for Acid Rain Program Excess Emission Penalty

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has published annual adjustment factors for the Acid Rain Program, which will affect the penalty for excess sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions starting from compliance year 2002. The new factors will increase the penalty to $2849 per excess ton of emissions.
