Airworthiness Directives; Pratt & Whitney PW4000 Series Turbofan Engines
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued an airworthiness directive (AD) for Pratt & Whitney PW4000 series turbofan engines with specific part numbers, requiring operators to recalculate the service life of these engines and perform on-wing inspections for cracks. The move comes after reports of cracked air seal assemblies, which were found in engines operating in hotter temperatures than anticipated.
