Medicare Program; Revision of Payment Rates for End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Patients Enrolled in Medicare+Choice Plans

The Medicare program is revising payment rates for patients with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) enrolled in Medicare+Choice (M+C) plans, starting January 2002. The new methodology aims to increase payments to reflect the actual costs of caring for these patients, resulting in an estimated $35 million increase in Medicare payments for FY 2002.
