Boeing Model 737-700 Airplane Receives Special Conditions for Novel Cooktop Design

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued special conditions for the Boeing Model 737-700 airplane, which features an electrically heated surface, or cooktop, not addressed by existing airworthiness standards, to ensure equivalent safety levels.
