NOAA Receives Application for Exempted Fishing Permit for Red Snapper Fishing in South Atlantic Waters

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has announced the receipt of an application for an exempted fishing permit (EFP) from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) to allow limited recreational red snapper fishing outside of federal seasons in South Atlantic waters. The permit would exempt the fishing from bag and possession limits, annual catch limits, and reporting requirements, in order to test alternative management strategies to reduce discards and improve angler satisfaction.
