National Park Service to Prepare Environmental Impact Statement for Battle of Homestead and Carrier Furnaces Sites in Western Pennsylvania

The National Park Service is required to prepare an environmental impact statement for the Special Resource Study of the former U.S. Steel Homestead Works, including the Battle of Homestead site and adjacent town of Homestead, due to the area's potential addition to the National Park System and its significance in the history of steel making and labor history in the United States.
