Restrictions on Joint Bidders for Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Lease Sales
The US government has imposed restrictions on joint bidders for Outer Continental Shelf oil and gas lease sales from November 1, 2001, to April 30, 2002, in an effort to prevent certain entities from colluding. The restrictions, which took effect on November 1, 2001, prohibit entities from Exxon Mobil Corporation, Shell Oil Company, and BP Exploration & Oil Inc. from bidding with entities from other groups.
