FTC Proposes Amendments to Amplifier Rule for Power Output Claims

The Federal Trade Commission is seeking public comment on proposed changes to the Trade Regulation Rule, which would require amplifier manufacturers to accurately calculate power output using standardized testing methods, allowing consumers to compare sound quality more easily. The Commission also wants to hear feedback on the typical usage of multichannel home theater amplifiers.
