Notice of Intent to Prepare an Environmental Impact Statement for the Proposed Wanapa Energy Center

The Bureau of Indian Affairs, in collaboration with the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, plans to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement for a proposed 1,300 megawatt electric generation plant in Umatilla County, Oregon. The project, to be jointly developed by Williams Energy Marketing and Trading Company, CTUIR, Eugene Water and Electric Board, City of Hermiston, and Port of Umatilla, aims to support economic development for the CTUIR and meet the power needs of the Pacific Northwest.
