Medicare Program; Supplementary Medical Insurance Premium Surcharge Agreements

The proposed rule aims to implement legislation that allows states and local government agencies to make lump sum payments to the Secretary for late enrollment premium surcharges for eligible Medicare enrollees, as part of the Social Security Act Amendments of 1994 and the Balanced Budget Act of 1997.
