FAA Issues Airworthiness Directive for Boeing 747 Series Airplanes
The FAA has issued an airworthiness directive for Boeing 747 series airplanes, requiring new repetitive inspections for fatigue cracking in the fuselage skin adjacent to the drag splice fitting, following reports of such cracking. The goal is to detect and correct the issue before it leads to reduced structural integrity and rapid depressurization of the airplane.
