FAA Proposes New Airworthiness Directive for BHTI OH-13E, OH-13H, and OH-13S Helicopters
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) proposes a new airworthiness directive (AD) for Bell Helicopter Textron, Inc.'s (BHTI) Model OH-13E, OH-13H, and OH-13S helicopters, which would replace the existing AD requiring recurring liquid penetrant or eddy current inspections of the main rotor blade grip threads. The proposed AD would reduce inspections to recurring eddy current inspections and establish a retirement life of 1200 hours time-in-service for each grip.
