EPA Issues Final NPDES General Permit for Oil and Gas Discharges in Texas Coastal Waters

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a final general permit for oil and gas extraction point source category discharges in Texas coastal waters, regulating discharges from wells in the Coastal Subcategory and Striper and Offshore Subcategories, while prohibiting certain types of discharges, such as drilling fluid and produced water, and authorizing others, like deck drainage and sanitary waste.
