NMFS Adjusts Atlantic Bluefin Tuna Subquota for October-December

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has revised the October-December subquota for the General category Atlantic bluefin tuna (BFT) fishery by transferring 40 metric tons from the Longline South subcategory quota, 50 metric tons from the Angling category, and 3 metric tons from the Trap category, resulting in a revised coastwide General category subquota of approximately 431.9 metric tons, which will be reopened until filled to allow for maximum utilization of the U.S. landings quota while maintaining a fair distribution of fishing opportunities.
