Extension of Public Comment Period for Sea Turtle Conservation Rule

The National Marine Fisheries Service, in collaboration with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Department of Commerce, is extending the public comment period for a proposed rule aimed at reducing sea turtle mortality caused by shrimp trawling in the Atlantic and Gulf Areas of the southeastern United States until December 31, 2001.
