Medicare and Medicaid Programs; Physicians' Referrals to Health Care Entities With Which They Have Financial Relationships: Partial Delay of Effective Date

The US Department of Health and Human Services has delayed the effective date of a rule regarding physician referrals to healthcare entities with which they have financial relationships by one year, from January 4, 2002, to January 6, 2003, to allow officials to reconsider the definition of 'set in advance' compensation to avoid disrupting existing contractual arrangements.
