Medicare and State Health Care Programs: Fraud and Abuse; Ambulance Replenishing Safe Harbor Under the Anti-Kickback Statute

The final rule establishes a safe harbor to shield certain hospital or facility arrangements replenishing drugs and medical supplies used by ambulance providers or first responders during patient transport to hospitals or facilities, as authorized under the 1987 Medicare and Medicaid Patient and Program Protection Act.
