EPA Announces Federal Operating Permits Program in Maryland

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is launching a federal operating permits program in Maryland, which will be effective on December 1, 2001, and grants the state's Department of the Environment (MDE) full authority to implement and enforce the program, with EPA retaining the right to object to permit issuance and collect fees if necessary.
