HUD to Implement New Rules for Civil Money Penalties in Multifamily Housing

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is set to implement changes to its civil money penalty regulations, which will expand the list of parties and violations subject to penalties and authorize HUD to impose penalties for violations of Section 8 housing contracts, as mandated by the Multifamily Assisted Housing Reform and Affordability Act of 1997.
