NIH Amends Guidelines for Designating High-Risk E. coli Strains

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is updating its guidelines to set standards for classifying strains of E. coli bacteria as high-risk agents, following a proposal to revise the criteria for designating these strains as risk group 1 agents, in line with the NIH's efforts to strengthen its recombinant DNA research regulations.
