Nuclear Regulatory Commission Proposes Update to Regulations for Holtec International HI-STAR 100 Cask System

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is proposing to update its regulations to allow power reactor operators to store spent fuel in the Holtec International HI-STAR 100 cask system under a general license, following the approval of Amendment No. 2 to the Certificate of Compliance (CoC). This amendment simplifies the language of the technical specifications for the storage pad and foundation of the cask system.
