Nuclear Regulatory Commission Confirms Effective Date for FuelSolutionsTM Revision

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has confirmed the effective date of May 14, 2001, for a direct final rule that amended the NRC's regulations to include Amendment No. 1 to the Certificate of Compliance for the BNFL Fuel Solutions FuelSolutions TM cask system, allowing the storage of mixed-oxide fuel assemblies, partial fuel assemblies, and damaged fuel assemblies at the Big Rock Point nuclear facility.
