Nuclear Regulatory Commission Amends Regulations for Spent Fuel Storage Casks

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is updating its regulations to allow for alternative fuel basket designs and longer operational times for spent fuel storage casks, in response to a proposal by a licensee to modify the existing cask system design.
