Nuclear Regulatory Commission Requests Public Comment on Rulemaking Petition for Enhanced Security Measures at U.S. Nuclear Power Plants

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has received a petition from the Three Mile Island Alert to amend its regulations requiring the posting of armed guards at entrances to 'owner controlled areas' surrounding U.S. nuclear power plants, in an effort to enhance security measures against radiological sabotage.
