Nuclear Energy Institute Petition for Rulemaking Denied by NRC

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has rejected a proposal by the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) to simplify the approval process for dry cask storage of spent nuclear fuel, citing improvements in the current process that have reduced approval times and made regulatory change unnecessary.
