NHTSA Proposes Amendment to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard for Hydraulic and Electric Brake Systems
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is proposing to expand the minimum performance requirements for parking brake systems to all vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) greater than 10,000 pounds, currently only applicable to heavy school buses, in an effort to enhance safety.
